Espumisan is used for the symptomatic treatment of gastrointestinal complaints related to the excessive cumulation of gases in the gastrointestinal tract, e.g. flatulence  , feeling full . Also Espumisan is used before abdominal examination, eg X-rays, ultrasound  and gastroscopy. Its active ingredient simethicone breaks down gas bubbles that accumulate in the stomach and intestines. The gases released in this process can then be absorbed through the intestinal wall and removed with bowel movements.
How to use :
Take Espumisan during or after a meal and, if necessary, at bedtime.
For symptomatic treatment of gas, stomach, or bowel complaints, such as gas build-up (flatulence) or swelling and fullness:
Children from 6 years and adults 2 capsules (equivalent to 80 mg simethicone) 3 - 4 times a day.
When preparing for an imaging examination of the stomach and intestines, such as X-ray, ultrasound and gastroscopy :
The day before the survey  take 2 capsules 3 times a day (equivalent to 240 mg of simethicone in total). The morning of the survey day 2 capsules (equivalent to 80 mg of simethicone).
Espumisan capsules can also be used after surgery.
It is not recommended to take Espumisan  for children under 6 years old.
