Antique Small Vintage Fishing Creel Salesman Sample?
This creel is very very old. It measures at the bottom 9" across, 5-6" deep at the lid and approx 5" high. There is a handle that may be for carrying or putting in a belt. Honestly, I think it's too small to be effectively used. It looks handmade also. The trim looks to have been sewn. At the back of the lid, the fabric has ruler markings on it. The strap to buckle us closed seems to be thin leather. The rest of the trim looks like the same as the strap but I cannot tell if this is leather, thin leather, oilcloth etc. There's an old bobber inside too. There is a little wear in a couple of places on the basket weave itself. I see a few light red marks on the bottom. Not noticeable. It really looks good for it's age.
