What omeprazole is used for?
Prescription omeprazole is used alone or with other medications to treat the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition in which backward flow of acid from the stomach causes heartburn and possible injury of the esophagus (the tube between the throat and stomach)
When is the best time to take omeprazole?
It's usual to take omeprazole once a day, first thing in the morning. It does not upset the stomach, so you can take it with or without food. If you take omeprazole twice a day, take 1 dose in the morning and 1 dose in the evening.
