Description
Premium Air Gun PelletsWe sell the best pellets, at the best prices. Want to learn more about our pricing? Then visit our company website. To protect the environment, we use recycled packaging, compostable labels, and compostable tape. Many of these pellets come in foam packaging, which we reuse, to ensure they’re adequately protected.
If you are looking for other pellets, please send an inquiry. Due to being a small business, we cannot afford to carry every available pellet. We try to offer a narrow selection of quality products.
H&N Sport - (GERMANY)
This company is known for its wide variety of pellets, as well as bullets for reloading firearms cartridges. They offer highly reliable products, and rank among the top, competing against JSB and RWS in terms of quality.
Baracuda Green
: a lead-free variant of their classic Baracuda. An excellent pellet.
Baracuda Hunter Extreme
: a fantastic hollow point, with tremendous expansion. Comparable to JSB Hades, but a slightly lower BC.
Hornet
: designed especially for rotary magazines, this pointed hollow point features a brass tip for extra penetration of tough game. The skirt length has been shortened, so it works in
rotary
magazines. Older versions of the Hornet were longer, like Predator's Metalmag, so we only sell the updated models.
Terminator
: nearly identical expansion to their
Baracuda
Hunter Extreme, but with a metal tip inside the cavity. The design is similar to Crosman's Destroyer pellet, but the similarities end there. H&N is
significantly
superior quality, and worth the extra price.
JSB - (CZECH REPUBLIC)
This
company
is unique in their gentle handling of pellets, providing foam cushioning for many of their products. Other companies might foam the bottom, but JSB often leaves foam on both the top and bottom, so your pellets are protected on their journey across the world, and to your home. Their pellets are excellent, and the demand is even greater. Their products sell out quickly, and its wise to stock up when you can.
Match Diablo Hades
: the best hollow point on the market, by far. Absolutely explosive power. Highly affordable, and unbeatable value. Packed with foam inside the container.
.177 cal:
.22 cal: 15.89 grains, 250 count.
.25 cal: 26.54 grains, 150 count.
Predator International - (JSB, CZECH REPUBLIC)
All of their pellets are made by JSB, and they are excellent, also coming with generous foam padding. Stock is sometimes difficult to obtain, but this for a good reason: the pellets are top-notch.
GTO Domed
: likely the very best lead-free pellet available. Packed with foam inside the container for superior protection.
Metalmag
: the metal tip helps
penetrate tough animals, and the hollow cavity expands for deadly results. Similar to H&N Hornet, but slightly longer skirt length.
.177 cal:
.22 cal: 17 grains, 200 count.
RWS - (Germany)
Hyperdome
: an excellent lead-free pellet. 5.5 grains for .177, and 11 grains for .22.
Choosing an Airgun Projectile
Purpose
Hunting for food
: If you want to avoid lead pellets, which is certainly safer, you are limited to around 30, or possibly 50 yards. Beyond 50 yards, a traditional firearm with a lead-free bullet is a better choice. Lead is a powerful neurotoxin, with many risks to your health, and it pollutes the environment. However, it is useful for long distance shooting, or for expansion in hollow points.
Hunting as pest control
: If lead is not a concern, hollow point expansion is very effective for taking down large quantities of pests. However, your pellets can be ingested by other predators. Try to locate your targets and dispose of them properly. Hollow points, especially the H&N Hornet, are very effective on larger animals.
Target shooting
: slugs are the best beyond 50 yards. End of discussion.
Lead vs Non-Lead
Lead is heavy and easily expands. Non-lead pellets are very firm, easily travel at supersonic velocities, and penetrate deeply. They also are more likely to ricochet, since they don’t deform or break apart like lead pellets.
For health reasons, we recommend using non-lead pellets whenever possible, unless your circumstances require the unique physical properties of lead. Those differences will be explained below.
Distance
0 to 30 yards
: any type of pellet should perform equally well. If you have significant crosswinds, a lead-free pellet is more likely to drift, but within 10-20 yards, you are unlikely to notice any change.
30 to 50 yards
: In calm weather conditions, lead-free pellets can be used with pinpoint accuracy. However, crosswinds begin to alter their path, and they lose velocity quite rapidly in this range. A traditional lead pellet is noticeably more accurate. In extreme wind, and as you approach 50 yards, slugs or cylindrical pellets might be a better choice. You should also consider investing into a quality scope, if you haven’t already.
50 to 100 yards
: At these ranges, you’ll notice a distinct advantage when shooting slugs or cylindrical pellets, especially for hunting. You should be using a quality optic for these ranges. Non-lead pellets are not recommended for hunting, unless you can confidently deliver a fatal shot. This should be established with experimentation on various targets before trying to hunt in these ranges.
100 yards or further
: slugs or cylindrical pellets are your only choice, along with a nice optic. Some hunters will prefer a firearm at these ranges, using lead-free bullets.
Accuracy
You need a quality scope, in order to hit your targets with pinpoint accuracy.
Quality pellets are a smart investment. Notice that we don't sell every brand. We've carefully chosen which products we sell, to cover a wide range of purposes and budgets, while still maintaining high quality products.
Accuracy varies with distance, and might require a variety of pellets for certain applications or ranges. Certain guns prefer different pellets, so it is wise to test them. If you would like custom sample packs, please send a message for pricing.
Your projectile’s Ballistic Coefficient (BC) influences its accuracy, along with other factors. Lead pellets typically have a higher BC, and are more accurate. Slugs have substantially higher BCs. There are not yet any mass-produced lead-free slugs. If you wish to shoot with tremendous accuracy beyond 50 yards, then you must use lead projectiles, or cast your own non-lead slugs.
