Description
Vintage Wicker Fishing Creel Basket previously owned by Robert H Hugman Jr. Hugman was a professional architect designer. His father designed the San Antonio River Walkway and he was best known to this very day of designing the entire signage at DFW International Airport in Irving, TX. Upon his retirement, he became a woodworking artist specializing in duck decoys. Purchasers included Tom Selleck and Ambercrombe & Fitch who commissioned Hugman to sell his decoys. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to trout fish. This creel was bought at his estate in Irving, TX. He passed away in 2009 and his surviving wife recently passed away leaving the Hugman estate to his children. Creel basketry is in good condition with very few broken weaves. This creel was made to slide onto the fisherman’s belt.
